As a designer, I’ve often worked on projects that got delayed in development or pushed to another quarter. This made it hard for me to remember my thoughts and reasons for my design choices.

To solve this, I created a way to document my design process right in Figma. This has been a game-changer, as it allows me to easily revisit why I made certain decisions. I also take notes during conversations with my Product Owner and other stakeholders, which makes it simple to refer back to their feedback later.

  1. Create a template that you can use for all your design tasks. I’ve made a simple timeline template that helps me record the process from requirement gathering to the final design.

2. Don’t skip adding the key highlights from every discussion, whether it’s during requirement gathering, feedback reviews, or testing sessions. You don’t need to include too many details; just keep the key points clear and concise.
